“White Buffalo Woman” has cultural traits that are represented through the woman, the encounter of the woman, and the pipe. To the Lakota Tribe this is the most important of all myths, which has a spiritual focus on the Plain Tribes. To the Lakota, the buffalo is vital source to their everyday life, it supplies them food and clothing. The Plain tribes use a close spiritual bond with the buffalo as they have them in their myths always helping or saving the community. The White Buffalo Woman represents the spirit woman as both a goddess and a bearer of gifts.
